Hi, I would recommend 'Sadolins Classic' various colours available to suit, it's ok and fish safe when dry, I use it on my pond which is surrounded by sleepers.
hi mate ive used dulux woodsheen as its also safe around ponds ive done woodwork around my filter very close to water also its very quick drying and in numerous shades....hope this helps
me again i think its as important in fact very that your just carefull to not drip any in the pond ....a steady hand ....not after a few beers thou lol

Hi Nigel
Thanks for this, we've also got sleepers around our pond and we're wondering what to paint them with - ideally we wanted them painted before they went on, but lack of planning...!
That is what I go for, and with my limited DIY skills I have had a fair few drips into the pond.. it is a bit pricey but does go a long way. Dont panic if the dark brown looks a bit purple in the tub it does dry brown!
