Id go with a fluidised bed filter with coral sand, they are small footprint and great for biological filtering.

Cheers Paul before or after i am taking after as the pod would filter the bigger stuff, but with the pod above the water line how would that effect the bed filter??
If you have a skimmer line you could run it from there on its own, or run it after easy pod as they like cleaner water and the pod would filter alot of this out first.
