Default baby fish getting caught in filter

Hi All,

I have some big koi in my pond and this year they seem to have got busy. In the pond I can see a number of tiny baby fish. They mostly hide in the green algae. The problem is i have lost 3 little ones through the filter. They seem to have got in the filter and trough the filter box and died. Is there any way I can stop this from happening?
Also sould I take the little ones out just in case the big ones eat them up?
this is the first time In 5 years I have seen so many little ones in the pond. In the last 5 years I have had 2 new born but no more.
Any help is much appreciated.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.

I have 3 really big ones about 14 inches and there are some smaller ones aboyt 7 inches. A new born in March is now already 2 inches.

the baby ones just born are tiny about 10 cm some are a bit bigger now about 15 cm. the ones i lost were really small about 6 cm.
