Default Tests

Hi folks.

When carrying out water tests, I've noticed that if one leaves the test longer than the stated time, the results can change. This is particularly so when testing for Nitrite. The test states to leave for two minutes, then take that reading (using NT Labs btw). Is this time to be strictly adhered to? I've noticed that the reading goes from between 0.25 & 0.5 up to 1.0 if left for ten minutes.

Cheers...Freddy.

I am no expert but the test will be calibrated to give a certain colour in a given time. The time factor is critical. I use a digital meter and the instructions are very clear on the need for accurate timings.

as alan says you have to stick to the stated times as you have found out that the test can and do change.
