right i have just thought of an idea from when i was on a discus forum. i am going to start a picture competition every month where every person can put one fish into the competition within the first week of the month, and then the next 3 weeks we all vote for the best fish. the winner will then get a surprise gift from myself or the forum and also if we can sort it a logo saying picture winner of such month or some thing like this. what do people think. a winning fish can then never be put in again to the competition. mark

The idea of a picture comp' is great BUT there seems to be a very broad range of keepers on here at various levels within the hobby .

The problem as I see it is the person buying there koi from the local garden centre is never going to be able to compete with the guy who has a pond full of show koi.

Could it not just be the best picture instead of the best fish ?

ok then how about any picture to do with koi keeping, can be picture of fish, picture of pond, or any other picture as long as its to do with koi keeping. and then we all vote on the best picture of the month.

i do try my best lol. so soon as this month is over i will start a new thread for one week for the pictures to be uploaded and then after that week i will then put a pole on the pictures for the next 3 weeks and then we will see who wins. mark

I think this sounds like a great idea guys! I Can't wait to enter a photo now! Maybe you could have a different theme 4 the photos each month? And the winner every month gets to pick the next theme? So let's say 4 example this month you could have koi photos! And then the winner could pick 4 the next month pond photos or photos at feeding time lol? Just thort I'd throw another idea into the hat. And that way you wouldn't get simlar photos every month just of the koi? But whatever you guys decide it should be good fun

what a great idea this is, i will go with that for sure. so if we keep it to just koi for the first month and then every month after the winner can pick what we have to put up next month.

I worry about 'bowling' my fish for a pic...so will have to try and catch them in 'their home' if you know what I mean! lol
