Dirty Water

Hi All, I am pretty new to the world of pond and fish keeping and am hoping for some help with a problem everything was going well and the water in the pond was gin clear but overnight its turned browny green and its virtually impossible to see the bottom of the pond their are no bits of green suspended in the water and the filter appears to be doing its job correctly any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks, Bill.
