bottled gas will cost more than your normal piped gas......... its just dans pond is down the bottom of the garden and pipes would cost even more.

£500-£600 set-up compaired to the £300 electric
but as i said the gas will be alot cheaper

Ok,
After speaking to a plumber (family member!!) he said we could run a circuit off my current boiler (needs to check the specs first!) to a heat exchanger in line with the ponds current pipe work.

Essentially leaving the boiler in the it's current place in the garage and putting the heat exchanger inline with the current 2" pipework and connecting the 2 elements with approx. 20 ft of heavily lagged flex y pipe.

will that work? Is that the best way from a cost point of view ?

sorry for all the questions but this is my first attempt at this so don t want to make any costly mistakes.

that is correct chap and the cheapest way of doing it. you've just planned to cut the cost by over half
