Yes this is blanketweed, the best stuff to use from my experience is cloverleaf blanket answer and this will rid your pond of it. (it works unlike other brands).

The first thing to check is the uv before treating with any treatments what are you readings ????
high no2 and no3 will be feeding the stuff.

i have had mixed reports on the cloverleaf stuff most saying that it stays in the water far to long [milky water]

i personally use eco gold kursi [spelling]

one thing to be sure of is that you have enough air going into your pond else you will lose fish and treat when you have the day you can watch the fish for signs of stress.

Default Blanket Weed

Hi Koimaster, forgive my ignorance but what do you mean by uv readings? The cloverleaf does seem to be doing its job allbeit slowly it has made a big differance on the bottom of the pond less so on the sides but i guess its still doing its stuff as i am cleaning out the filter daily at present, the only downside is that it appears to have left a crusty type of covering in the bottom and sides where the blanket weed was any ideas on how to remove this? Thanks.

you will need to hover the bottom of the pond i used the clover leafe stuff and it took over a month and i hovered the bottom twice befor it was clear again and uv means the uv light is it strong enouth to kope and they do require changing once a year but by readings he means nitrate and nitrite it feed the blanket weed get that out the water and no more blanket weed
