| Nexus Footprint Hi chums. I'm considering building a Koi pond. The filter that looks pretty good to me is the Nexus Eazy 200, but what I need to know is how much space I need to allow for it ? This is an important consideration as I don't have a lot of space to play with.
Cheers...freddy. |

| Hi Pat. I've already looked there. What they give are the dimensions of the filter itself, NOT how much space one would need to be able to get around it. As for being big enough, I think it should be ok. IF it goes ahead, the pond would probably be around 3,000 gallons. The filter (they say) can handle up to 4,000 gallons.
Cheers...freddy. |

| Hi freddy when it comes to filtration you want to aim for a filter that can handel double your pond so if your pond is 3000 gallons you want a filter that can handel 6000gallons other wise you will find is an up hill battel keeping the water quality stable i have a 1500gallon pond and i have a filter system that can handel 3000gallons pluse iv got a Bakki shower running as well im going to be going bigger soon to around 4-5000gallons and ill be looking at 1 nexus 300 an easy pod and a Bakki house shower so the more filtration you can have the beter it will be unless you plan on only lightly stocking your pond and to get to your main question for space around the nexus the more the better but id say between 1-2' |

| Hi Freddy- I have about 4000gallons but went with the 300 as those in the know thought that the 200 might struggle based on stocking rates. You need to be able to access valves etc and be able to fit yourself around it for maintenace. At one the inlet side I got away with about a foot at the other side it was the smallest gap i could fit through! |

| Hi folks. So, the common consensus is that I can allow around 2ft all the way round ? (regardless of which I go for-200 or 300). Just to say, the Nexus wouldn't be the only thing I'd run. In my last pond I used a fluid bed which I found was very effective at removing Nitrites. But, if I need more, then I wont hesitate to go for bigger.
Cheers...freddy. |
