£500-£600 for 6 months omg i dont think the misses will let me spend that much out of her shopping budget... i have just read another post on here and may have to look at building a frame around and over the pond, my pond is only 8 foot by 6 foot without the filter bay area so it shouldnt be too expensive to build.
cheers

Hi guys

I will look at covering my pond too, as my fish have been still active, we have had a few herons poking their noses where they shouldn't be.

I'm also concerned for the welfare of my poor fish.

Don't want non going missing.

i have just put a new heater, on my pond but it was sitting at just over 4 degrees, i have just fitted a new Electro heater as i have had a few problems with meltdowns with 2 profi heaters this year. You also have to be carefull that the housing on them doesnt crack as they heat up, as the first one i had did.

I think I'm going to add a cover to my pond as well.
I tried using matron this winter but she wouldn't stand still and refused to stay out all night, her frock didn't quite reach the edges either.

Seriously, (but on for a few fleeting seconds) having watched everything freezing up and the potential problems likely when spring arrives I think a heater and/or shelter is a good investment.
Now, just need to find the tools for matron.. (I did say fleeting)
