it is an oase i think it cost £150 it is collecting loads of crap and my water quality is 100% better but it has still a long way to go ,my water became yellow i have carried out two 30% water changes and will continue to do so weekly it is a high carbon leevel in my pond i believe but it is proving hard to eradicate changing uv this weekend but the foam fractionator is doing the biz.
Hi Brett just wondered how the fractionator was going, we purchased one at the weekend and will be setting it up on our new pond in the next couple of weeks, thought i would just drop you a line to see how well it was working.
I have one on my pond they are great Just watch the amount of foam you remove in the first few weeks
after a while the amount of foam that it collects will decrease and then eventualy stop, this doesn't mean that it has stopped working just that your water is clean
thanks for your reply, i am pleased that they seem to work that well and cant wait to get it fitted and up and running, i hope now to get it running at the week end.
Hi Graham nice to hear you are close to completion
The thing is on a NEW pond you won't quite see the same amount of crap coming out the fractioner as you would on an established pond as there shouldn't be as much DOC in the water
the main advantage is you will keep in check all DOC before it even affects the water
