Do they grow at different speeds Hello all. I was sitting at work today talking to my Pal a very keen Carp Fisherman. We were talking about how although there are plenty of 40lb plus Common Carp (fully scaled) On a whole most of the real biggies out there are Mirror Carp (doitsu). My pal was telling me how they now are beggining to do research into the difference between the two types of Carp. I must point out my Pal is no idiot, and very well respected through out the Carp Angleing World. He often writes articals for Carp Talk and other Mags. He himself has caught numourus Forty plus fish. HeĀ* Said that they are now starting to notice that different baits may trigger a different reaction from both. I dont think this means that if you useĀ* a certain bait You will only catch one or the other, but they are just tallying things up on a whole. It got Me to thinking about My Koi and there different growth patterns I have had. I have to say that the Koi that I have of the Doitsu kind seem to grow faster. Than fully scaled, Probably just a coinsidense, I dont Know. Could it be that That a Doitsu Koi does`nt have the scale growth, so can channel its energy into body Growth?
Then if thats the case any Carp of the Leather kind should grow to be the size of Whales lol.
Just wondered if anyone else out there could throw some input in from there own experiance of Koi or Carp in General
