Default Slight Water Problem

No way to stay but from the begininning.........

I had what I call good water conditions with crystal clear water...........I purchased a pond plant and the koi had a field day eating away at this plant and the roots disturbing the soil and turning my pond into a mud pond. Tested the water everything was fine ammonia 0, nitrate 0 and ph 8 (a little high but ok).

I thought to myself that because I haven't got a bottom drain i needed to purchase a pond vacuum which I did and cleaning the bottom and sides of the pond, removing all the soil.

Problem is I done this yesterday and the water is still cloudy today. Don't get me wrong its clean but a little cloudy but because Iknow the water was crystal clear before I am still not satisfied.

Steps I have taken is flushing both filters

removed the plant

tested the water (all is well)

and added clear pond to clump the particles together.

Please please if you have had this problem please share how you got over it.

Add some clay if you have no luck, your water will be sparkling again after a few days............

Hi English

It can be bought in different quantities. It is relatively cheap, I use Nishiclay and add it once a week as it is also good for the Koi. It comes in powder form and you mix the appropriate quantity to some pond water and then pour it into the pond. Some of your Koi might go mad and flick for a while but they soon calm down. hope this helps

Hi English

Clay is great just add to your water and wait ,your water will go murky for a while but will turn crystal clear.

Indeed with all my plants I use aquatic soil. I have now placed a block in my pond placed the plants on top and my pond is now back to the crytal clear water I am used to.
