Default Filter change

Does anyone have any views, advice etc on the following. I have just purchased a new bigger 5 bay filter, all be it second hand. I sterilised all the media with potassium permanganate and rinsed with clean water. The filter is up and running parallel with my other filters and has been for a week, I have set it up so it takes approximately 25 mins for the water to get through from start to finish. I am running two other pumps, one pumps to a multibay with vortex and a bubblebead. The other pump runs a fluid bed filter and a multibay with vortex.
How long until the new filter can cope on its own?. I was also going to keep a fishmate 15000 pressurised filter, connected to the bubblebead and then connected to the fluid bed and run these along side my new filter.

Sorry about all the rambling

i think it takes anywhere from 6 weeks onwards , some folk say it can take up to a year for a filter to fully mature, i think however long you leave it you will suffer a little because of the amount of filtration you would be removing. it is bound to cause a little bit of shock to the filter just because of the extra load with all the other filters running it will probarly not reach full efficency untill it is running on its own

i would leave it 6 to 8 weeks let your media mature then let it run on its own.and keep an eye on your parameters and take any action needed
