yes you can , but quarantine them first...i would advise you dont buy from too many sources try to find a couple you trust and stick to them. All koi carry different parasites ect..and your pond koi will have to adjust to each fish you put into the pond..but if the fish is well and healthy there is no reason not to mix japs with isreali,s or english ect..

HI
IF YOU WAS TO MIX THE KOI ?
I WOULD NOT DO SO AS OF THE ISRAELE KOI MIXED WITH JAPANESE KOI HAS HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE Â*KHV INFECTION BEEING BROUGHT OUT IN TO JAPANESE KOI FROM ISRAELE BEEING THE CARRERS OF THE INFECTION AND WILL PASS IT ON TO OTHER KOI AND INFECTING THEM ?
IT IS NOT GOSPELE BUT THERE HAS BEEN TOO MANY RESULTS OF THIS .
SO THAT IS WHY I WOULD NOT MIX THE KOI .
JUST KEEP JAPANESE WITH JAPANESE AND ISRAELE WITH ISRAELE TO BE SAFE .
THANKS DARREN

A Koi can have KHV regardless of the region it has come from, infact, after talking to Yamakoshi, Koi from Magnoy (Israel) for example are probably less likely to spread KHV as they are immunized individually.
I myself do not keep Koi from Israel, but they are producing some good Koi now and as long as you quarantine a Koi I cant see any problem with mixing them.

Hi everybody,I have just recieved the april issue of Koi Carp, there is an article on page 60 called working together, about magnoy. It explains about thier vaccine program.Which I saw for myself in 2003.If you want to ask me any questions about it please feel free.ALthough I do not stock Isreali koi myself it is not because I do not like them,A good koi is a good koi no matter where it comes from. There used to be a considerable difference in price between Isreali and Japanese koi. But I feel That as the Isreali's have got better at breeding different varieties, the price difference is not so great now,And nobody does koi better than the masters.Carol.
