Default Gas boiler regs..

Hi
Is there any gas enginers on here ? or does any one know the regs regarding fitting a boiler in a wooden building (filter house) .
From what i can gather its ok to fit in a wood building as long as the boiler is hung on a fire board or i presume a metal board / backing would do .

I know the connections need to be done by a gas safe engineer .

Thanks

Thanks for the reply Dave

The fire board seems quite a few £££,s and i can get a large metal sheet for nothing , i want to get the right gear ready for when i,ve got the cash to get it fitted .

dont quote me on this but id say you will have to get the fire board, a sheet of metal would not pass fire regs

Yes you are right the boiler should be hung to the wall on fire board, fire rated plasterboard is good enough, just fix ply wood to the wall where the boiler is going to be fixed and then cover with fire plasterbord (pink stuff).

BUT please remember all gas work should be carred out by a GAS SAFE registered engineer, this includes the positioning of the boiler.

Im sure you are going to be using a gas safe engineer for the installation so if you have any questions why not ask him im sure he would be able to help????

Thanks for the replies guys

Hi Dave ...yes i am going to get a gas safe engineer to finish it off properly no way do i want to cut corners but i wanted to get the info together so i can get the bits together myself first .
Things like digging the trench for the pipework , fire board etc i was hopeing to do myself and just get it finished off ....ie get a quote when i have evereything in place

If i had plenty of money i would get it all done by a gas fitter but i,m going to have to do some bits myself (if i can) .
