Maybe to much flow or not enough , stocking levels ect
I ran a nexus on a 3000g and the clarity was fine all be it if you looked hard enough you could see some fines and have seen many big set ups useing nexus with good clarity.
I now use a sieve & bead on the bottom drain with the nexus on the skimmer i believe they are both very good at what they do, |

Reputation Level: | The reason I put it on the bottom drain is i can put a lot more water through it compared to the nexus and yes it does get all the fines out
the nexus in my set up is more suited to the skimmer line with the size of pump im useing .
Im not disputing that the sieve bead does give you crystal clear water but I also believe it can be achieved with a nexus ( with a few fines ) if set up correctly |

Reputation Level: | wow Thanks, theres a lot of info there! I have time to think because my new pond is still not started. I'm going to cascade pond center over the weekend and will have a look at what they have. Maybe the Nexus will be sold (should make a good profit) and a bead filter purchased. I enjoyed the banter my first question caused!

keith and i will always disagree on the two filter systems but its all in good fun. he has done a great job of his pond and i give him credit for this. i just have my own thoughts on a nexus filters as i have seen many running and they have not been good. i know he is putting one on his pond and i hope for him it works, i can only go by my own seeing on other ponds and having a bead filter in use on my own pond i can 100% say they are great filters. think its enough said now from me, hope you buy what you believe is good for your own pond. mark
