Default oxyginating in winter

Hi
I oxygenate my koi pond all the time, as the cold weather is closing in
i am going to lift the pump a bit higher in the pond to minimise water movement at the bottom, should i also stop oxygenating the pond for the same reason
also i want to get rid of my vortex filter and go back to a box gravity filter,if i put the foams out of the old into the new would i get away with changing in this cold weather thus getting over the problem of slow growing good bacteria
and would it help to oxyginise the filter box
thanks
popeye
