Reputation Level: | bottom drain/filter question Hello,
If I had a bottom drain that connected to the inlet of my filter, the water pressure would force the water into the filter.
If I had an outlet from near the top of my filter that fed back into the pond would the pressure of the water flowing through the filter cause the water to flow back into the pond through the outlet?

Reputation Level: | Simple answer is NO, the way it work is that the top of the filter is level with the top of the pond so that the water level is then equal and the you put a pump on the out let of the filter and pump it back hope this helps a bit but please feel free to ask away.

Reputation Level: | Yeah you can eather put a submergable pump in the last chamber or have a dry mounted one conected to the out let but if you put the pump in the last chamber you will have to block up the exit of the filter

Reputation Level: | bottom drain/filter Thanks for the info.
I don't fully understand how you would plumb in a bottom drain because an outlet leads from the bottom drain under the concrete base and emerges outside the pond wall - so is there a hole in the side of the concrete base?

Reputation Level: | i will try and make it abit clearer for you.
your base is over the pipe then you build your wall on the egde of the base leaving the pipe under the base with a 90 deg bend up to your filter on holes in the wall. |
