Rep Power: 0  | Re: diy filter here is my filter. its got 4 bays. i used hole saws to make the path through the gates. up down up down ect so the water passes every area. i do have a pro clear55w at the start before the filter. 15,000 ltr pump also. and i wacked some ball valves for maintenance. at the begginging i have brushes and bio balls. then jap mat. then fine foam then kalrog in nets at the end. this was cheaper than the prices of filters i see. hudereds of pounds ! i had to reduce this photo via Irfanviw software. pain in the arse. but its easy when u done it once.
will no doubt be posting fish and pond pics in the future.
ps. my display pic is my pond when i just filled it with water for the first time. i didnt actuallt have fish in it for 8 weeks arfter. i had to be sure the wayer was ok |

Rep Power: 0  | Re: diy filter We also have a home made filter and used 4 cold water header tanks available at diy shops. This has been in place for over two years with no probs. We use brushes, bio balls, flowcore and sponge. We have also used alfagrog and up until this summer we also had plants in the top which helped with the nitrates but made it hard to clean. This runs along with our oase biotec 10.

Anybody have any idea what kind of koi this is? I've looked around on the web but couldn't figure out what it is. |
