Thank you all for your replys, information and help.

Unfortunately I had to put the guy out of his misery saturday morning. After treating him locally with MG and hoping for the best, I came out saturday morning to find him dormant at the bottom of the pond. Took him out, and altho still breathing, there was no one 'home' he had gone stiff and non responsive.

I had reached the conclusion that it was a bacterial and qite simply MG wasnt powerful enough to combat it at that late stage. From all I can figure it had manifested inself into his head and that was that. Put him to sleep and can move on from this with a good ammount of learning.

The swim bladder fish seems to be reasonably content, and has even managed to swim in circles going the opposte way!ha. I am holding a bit more hope for her if the salt treatment has any affect.

My main pond if being taken to 6' this week, so its going to be busy and excitng.
