PS as bcfc said what test kit do you use as some are a load of cr@p ie the test strips the one you will want is the api fresh water test kit with all the little bottles of solution

i cant remember the name of the test kit i bought but it was one with all the induvidual bottles of solution, every thing seems fine withe the water quality so un sure as to why they are so stressed.

the water temp is reading 15 degrees too so its not particually cold id say its about average for this time of year. im looking into replacing mu UV bulb now in the filter to a 55 watt one which should help a bit more as i dont think the on that is in it now is really sufficient enough.

whats the best salt to use have you got any recomendations or is it just called pond salt.

so basicaly im just giving it a salt bath for ten mins and back into the with just pond water one settled it can then go back into the pond. and repeat treatment if required.
