There's a Falconry Centre near here on the A65 near Settle N.Yorks
they take them around all the shows etc.
The Eagle Owls are magnificent, I swear the 1 I touched was nearly 3 feet high,
and the size of it's eyes !!!
I have a great affinity with wildlife etc ( been called Dr. Doolittle by 3 different people before now ! ..... it's all to do with Aura and magnetic energy )
The guy watched me talking to and building up a rapport with his Eagle Owl getting nearer and nearer ........ he quietly warned me about the talons and it's beak...... I said it won't hurt me ! ................
after about 15 minutes or so I stroked it's head with a finger, then it's breast then finally held my other arm out in front ( it was tethered )
it hopped off its perch onto my bare arm and I continued to stroke it and talk to it for a few minutes then gently put it back on it's perch ..........
not a scratch, just tiny pin prick marks where it gripped me for the first few seconds until it felt safe and secure and unthreatenned,
when I turned around the guy from the Falconry Centre and about 10 joe public's were stood watching me ! It was a very special moment for me, one I will never forget !
What a magnificent creature !!!
I would love one, but would be petrified it would get shot every time it flew !
Imagine owning 1 near Ogawa ......" bang ... bang ! " ....... next hobby !!!
Peter.
